Above arrival to Sacha Runa, you enjoy a traditional welcome cocktail and an exquisite lunch prepared by our chefs of the community. You’ll be shown to your accommodations in our traditional Kichwa welcomingly rustic cabins that are built with local and natural materials. In the evening, you’ll walk along the Indillama River where you’ll spot river turtles (Las charapas), shorebirds and various monkeys. After your hike, you’ll return to the Lodge for a wonderful dinner and a free evening to enjoy the magic of the jungle.

Day 2Yasuní

Breakfast will be served very early so that we can visit the parrot saladeros first thing. At the earliest hours of the day, numerous flocks of parrots from the parakeets to macaws visit this area caused by erosion to ingest the natural minerals their normal diet lacks. After observing the parrots as they feed, we’ll head to the 50-meter high observation tower to get a bird’s eye view of the jungle.

We’ll head back to the lodge for lunch and a short break before visiting the the Indillama Community to experience our culture. Here the women entrepreneurs in the community will demonstrate some of our traditional dances, and share with you very important drink called chicha to the kichwa people. At the end of the presentation, you can purchase some of the handmade crafts made with sustainably-gathered material from the jungle. We’ll return to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.

Day 3Yacu Kawsay Environmental Interpretation Center

After breakfast at 6:00am we’ll travel by canoe to the Yacu Kawsay Environmental Interpretation Center (The world underwater). This small museum house expertly carved aquatic species that dwell within the waterways of Yasuní. After touring the museum, we’ll take a short hike to spot wildlife and enjoy the jungle.

We’ll return to Sacha Runa for lunch, and then return to Coca.
